Allegany Arrows [CALL] (1-0) opened the tournament with a 7-6 win over the Edmonton Miners [RMLL]. The Arrows’ Chris Attwood (3G, 0A) and Chris Cloutier (0G, 3A) led scoring while Chase Martin stopped 48 of 54 shots in net.
Game 2 featured the Victoria Shamrocks [WCSLA] (0-1) dropping a 13-7 decision to the Six Nations Rivermen [OSL] (1-0). Greg Elijah-Brown led Rivermen scoring with 2 goals and 5 assists, with Drew Hutchinson holding down the fort stopping 37 of 44 shots.
Game 3 had the host Ladner Pioneers (1-0) taking on the Standing Buffalo Fighting Sioux [PGLL] (0-1) and coming away with a 16-8 victory. Tyler Pace led the charge with 1 goal and 7 assists, and Christian Del Bianco turned aside 38 of 44 shots for the Pioneers.
The final match of the day saw the Arrows defeat the Snake Island Muskies [TNSLL] (0-1) by a score of 7-6. The Arrows’ Chris Attwood led scoring with 3 goals and 2 assists while netminder Hunyahdengowah Abrams stopped 61 of 67 shots.
